Hey all, I am back.
Long trip, woke up at 7am, horrified at the thought of trying to pack 2 computers with not one computer bag in sight! I went on holiday, bought clothes, got Christmas presents and bought a new computer cause mine died, conveniently forgetting I had limited space in my bags.
Ok so here comes the rant...
I went down to Sydney to buy my new computer cause the Apple shop near where I was staying is kinda crappy. So I get in there and ask to compare the sizes of the 12" and the 14" ibooks. They let me and I choose the 14". I say ok can I get this today, he says, yes we have some in stock but we will need a while to put the extra ram and airport card in. 2hrs later... blah blah.. we don't have your bag.. should be in next week.. I say.. I need it by Wednesday cause I am going home then. He says, ok we will do our best.
My first software restore disk is missing kernels for my puter, so I install with K's first disk and it seems to work fine, so I call on Monday and ask what is happening and tell him my disk is stuffed. He says, "You'll have to call apple to get a replacement disk"...I go in my mind, "freaking great". He says, "we didn't get your bag in today, I have called the supplier and they don't have any either... let me see what is happening and I will call you back". He calls back and says, it will be in next week, so we can mail it to you or the supplier can mail it to you, but it might cost money...
Freaking great.... I think.
So I call back today, "they are gonna send it to you free of charge"
freaking great! I think, then I realize I have nothing to carry my new computer back in. Freaking great *sighs* I think.
So I call Apple about replacing the disk, I get on the phone, he takes 20 mins to take my details, I think, this guy aint using a Mac is he.... He is an Apple tech guy and he is not using a Mac....*sighs and shakes head* So then he tells me something is wrong with my agreement... I am thinking what agreement???? Then his computer crashes, he tells me the database is working slowly and he has to restart anyways, so that takes around 30mins (with him saying nothing). So he finally gets back to me and I say, I am on my Uncles phone and you have been over an hour now, can you hurry this up? He says I am sorry for the delay, now about this "agreement" I am still thinking, what fucking agreement????????
So he fixes the agreement taking another 20 mins at least. Then he finally asks me about the disk I want replaced, he had NO FUCKING CLUE! I doubt he had seen a mac install disk in his life. I told him straight out what I wanted, so then he proceeds to go through everything that is NOT ON the disk, taking another 30 minutes. I say, I cannot afford this, can you call me back once you have processed this, you have all my details *mumbling about him taking 20 mins to get em*. So he gets the number and says ok. Then calls back 30mins later... twice... so he can give me the details, taking another 15 mins or so. BLOODY FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!
So me and the computer are back here and I hope I can fix the kernel problem my computer is still having over the weekend.
Anyways, its half past midnight and I need to go do stuff here tomorrow so I better get going!
