Ok.. Ok... I have been slack, a whole week with no posts!!
The last 4 days at work have been hectic. Early on Wednesday, went so quickly I felt like I got nothing done, things kept happening and happening... late thursday was just as busy, I had a lady come back post op after having a ligament in her hand repaired, she was 33 weeks pregnant, why the hell would you subject your unborn baby to an anaesthetic like that? It wasn't like she had a recent injury to it.. it had been this way for a long time. So she came back and I had to listen to her baby, and was sposed to do a ctg which is monitoring it for 20mins, did her first set of obs, went to the next lady, mastitis and her temp was 39.2 bleh. Next lady was fine thank goodness, next lady's blood perssure was low, and she was feeling bad after losing a fair amount of blood after giving birth to twins, the next lady's breastfeeding was going terribly. Last night I ended up taking a lady who was being induced, 35weeks pregnant with premature ruptured membranes, all I could think was eeeep! So it was all going fine, I stayed and chatted with them and we were making predictions about how long she would be, her first labour was one hour, the second labour was 2hrs, so we thought maybe 4hrs for this one. She was so quiet it was amazing, and I kept telling her that she couldn't have the baby after 10pm so that i could catch it and so that I would have time to do the paper work and all the other stuff. She was examined at 9pm or so and was 3-4cms dilated, and i thought she would probably deliver at midnight, but at about 10:20pm she started to feel some pressure, so I examined her and of course she was fully dilated. She delivered at 10:35pm so i got to deliver the baby, but it was right on hand over, so I then had to stay and finish off as much paper work as I could. It took untill 11:40pm for me to get enough of it finished and enough things done to go... and I was going back this morning at 7am.
So i got 4hrs sleep or less.. I am sooo zonked right now.
Mom, dad and Rob get home on Saturday so i gotta do some more cleaning tomorrow.. bleh. Most important thing is that I get to sleep in! WOOO
ok going to relax now
