Its been a long night, I had 10 patients again, this time with an AIN, who was great but new and knew pretty much very little. So although she can do obs and patient care, everything always falls back onto me. Little to say, I had a very busy night and it ended up quite shitty. Drugs for everyone, new admissions etc. I had two patients transfer in from the cardiac ward right as I started the shift and the orderly had not cleaned or made the beds, so I got ragged at by the orderly who brought the patients up cause he had to then take the beds and clean them and remake them down on the cardiac ward. The other new admission I got came about 9pm, right as one of my other patients that had been transferred with unstable angina got chest pain, so I went into the first patients room to tell her I would be with her as soon as possible and she chucked a wobbly. She got all angry and agitated at me for the fact I couldn't give her her pills right that very second. I was like... like I fucking care about your non essential pills when I have a patient who may be having a heart attack.. bleh.
I sorted her out none the less, and I was good, and pleasant when I got in to her room finally after sorting the other woman out. But I ended up the night having to write 10 sets of notes because my AIN couldn't write any of them and it just made things late, so I had one antibiotic that I hadn't given that had been due at 10pm and I was sposed to be leaving at 10:30pm and only started writing my 10 sets of notes at 10:15PM. S I didn't get to give the antibiotic and told the night staff that I hadn't managed to get it done, I had it ready in the treatment room to draw up and give but just hadn't gotten to it. She gave me the dirtiest look and a grunt and went off to do it, stupid cow!
Anyways, I finally finished by 10:45pm or so and left. I hate work!
I am sposed to be going to bed now, have to go to work from 12:30pm to 9pm tomorrow and I doubt I will be able to sleep in, its already midnight.
So gnite.
