Nurse B is trying to catch me doing something wrong now... it would almost be funny if it weren't so sad. She knows she is in trouble so she wants to get as many others in trouble as she can. Fortunately she has a couple more day left to go and then she is on annual leave for a few weeks. I have no idea why she hasn't had more disciplanary stuff done about her as yet, but she is skating on thin ice, and if she cracks it she is gonna get fired.
We had a lady who had a brain aneurism clipped on the ward for the last 2 days, one of the other girls was looking after her, but when she came back from lunch found a big bulge the size of an egg on the side of her face, we both got all worried and did obs and put her back to bed and called the doctors, apparently it happens fairly regularly with people who have had this operation that they have a leak of cerebro spinal fluid around the osteotomy site (which is where they take a piece of bone out so they can get to the brain). Nurse B decided to come over and check things out and tell us what we should be doing, she went and got the ECG machine... heaven knows why... she had a brain aneurism, it was nothing to do with her heart!
Had a lovely gent I have been looking after for the last 3 days now, he came in feeling light headed and it turns out he most likely has oesaphageal cancer and liver metasteses...eep. Poor fella, they told him about it a few days ago, but he couldn't even start to accept it until today when I finally heard him say to the dietician that "things didn't look good for him". Why is it that all the horrible old biddies live to be 1000 and the nice old things die early?
Talking about old biddies... lol, we had a confused lady in the ward for a while, a week ago when she was unwell one of the younger nurses told her to stay in bed to keep warm when she was trying to hop out of bed over the rail, she turned to her and said "And you can shut up, ya ugly cow". lol...Seh was wandering about today trying to find her room, and she asked me to help her, so I went and took her hand and she told me she had just met a heap of pigs and that they knew stuff all about anything, but I was one of the nice ones wasn't I?...lol At least work is entertaining occasionally!
Still feeling like I am getting a cold, headache for 4 days running and my throat is sore on and off, the worst bit is feeling so lethargic, I am not tired as in sleep, I just feel really worn out. Roll on 5 days off! After 6 on 2 off 6 on 2 off 5 on.. I think I deserve it!
Anyways, gonna head...
