EEEEeeeeep!
I was in charge tonight at work, it was the nicest in charge shift I have had since I started working where I am... sad it happened the week I am leaving huh?
I called about getting cable connected at our new place today cause I would like it in before we move, so I talk to this guy giving him various details during the first half an hour, then he finally goes and gets his boss and comes back and tells me that they have checked on three different programs and it appears that the cable in our building is not owned by telstra. Only Telstra and Optus provide cable connection in this state. So he tells me I should call the other company which he cannot name and ask them about the cable. So I call Optus... "do you own the cable to our building..." "nope we don't own it, but I can connect your phone lines if you want" "no thanks" hang up. Call the people we are leasing from, "who owns the cable..." Telstra owns it, everyone here is connected with telstra" "ok." says I. Call telstra again, tell them that I can't find out who owns the cable and that I just want it connected, give the new girl my details, she replies, "Sure, there is cable foxtel connection in there, I jut need a few more details and then we will send out someone to connect it for you."
ARGHHHHHHHH! The first guy pretty much would have lost a customer who would have been on a 2 year contract through his incompetance!! So of course after this I didn't get onto getting all the other things like power and gas connected...*grumbles*
My new work rang while I was at my old work today, this is how the convo went,
Me "Hi, this is BJ returning your call."
Them "Oh right, we have you rostered to work in the morning, but the NUM of your ward doesn't know about you."
Me "Errrr....thats because I haven't done my orientation yet, I am due to start it on Tuesday."
Them "Oh, we had it down that you had already done your orientation... last week."
Me "Errrr, nope, I had called and talked to Paula and she had sent me out a second letter saying that I could start on the 25th cause I told her that the 11th was too early."
Them "Ahhhh ok, we obviously didn't get a copy of that letter, so we need to fix that on our computer."
Me thinking eeeep... "Oh, I am so sorry, I am still working at my old job at the moment, soooo sorry for causing you so much trouble"
Them, ever so graciously... "Oh no, thanks for calling us back.
EEEEEp... not a good way to start a new job eh?
Oh well.
I think I am gonna go to bed now
