Sunday afternoon I had a confused guy who was agitated with a central venous line, a woman womiting and pooping all night and 2 pre operative people, Monday morning I had the same confused guy... who pooped like 5 times!!!! once on the floor 3 times in the bed and once in the chair then, after I had changed all his sheets 3 times and all, he vomited all over himself as well!
I had 5 patients yesterday morning when i started and ended up with 7 at the end of the day, 2 post operative, one of the post ops decided to vomit a heap right on 3pm, the other dropped his glass on the floor and it promptly shattered all over the place, the woman that was vomiting last night, was pooping all today, and now has a nasogastric tube which required flushing and all. The confused guy had a central IV line, which required a line change during Sunday night while he was confused, and it was his drug that I missed midday and got a phone call about last night, probably cause I was cleaning up his poop for the 3rd or 4th time. I did this all on about 4hrs of sleep between the two shifts. Feeling totally rat shit today because of it.
Getting my car serviced next week.
Feel like a total moron this morning, called the dentists cause I had a car which i thought said my appointment was on the 3rd of july... (it actually said the 3rd of June DUH!) So she said i was booked in for Monday the 4th of July at 9:30am... I got off the phone thinking that was not right, I looked at the day, I was working that afternoon. Soooo didn't wanna get my braces tightened before going back to work... eeep! So I called back after re-looking at my appointment card.. turns out it had fallen off the fridge and got mixed around, there was another card behind it and I was actually booked in for the 30.6.05 which was a thursday. Bleh what an idiot I am! *laughs at herself*
Oh well... gotta go get ready for.. yep you guessed it, work again!
I am on a 2:30pm-11pm (pm shift), then a 7am-3:30pm(am shift) twice in a row this week. Wooo.. Not. I get about 4-5hrs sleep between the two.
